You will need to erase and disconnect your iPad from your "Find My" account before sending it in. The team at Tiptop is unable to disconnect your iPad for you.
If you have your device with you, follow these steps to disconnect:
- Go to "General" > "Reset" (or "Transfer or Reset iPhone" on iOS 15)
- Be sure that your data is saved to the cloud and then click "Erase All Content and Settings"
- Enter your passcode if asked and then click "Erase [device]" and Confirm.
- Your iPad is reset and ready for shipment
If your device is not at your current location or is not in working order, follow these steps:
- Go to icloud.com/#find and sign in with your Apple ID (the same one used for iCloud)
- If you are currently using another iCloud app, click the app’s name at the top of the iCloud.com window and select “Find My iPhone.”
- Once on the Find My iPad page, click on “All Devices” and select the device you want to erase.
- Click on “Erase Device” and enter your Apple ID password. If the device is not lost, there is no need to enter a phone number or message.
- Note that you can disconnect your device even if it is offline or not at your current location.
